Liberty Regional Medical Center is still referred to by many as Liberty Memorial Hospital. The hospital was dedicated and opened to serve Liberty County on December 3, 1961 as a 28-bed acute care hospital.
In 1974, adding 28,000 square feet, which increased the beds from 28 to 50, expanded the hospital. Areas that were renovated and enlarged during this time included Radiology. Laboratory, Emergency Room Obstetrics, Dietary Services, and Administration. In an effort to serve continuing education needs of the hospital employees, the Hospital Authority constructed the Fraser Conference Center in 1982. The hospital's education building was dedicated in honor of Dr. Whitman Fraser.
An 8,000 square foot renovation and addition to Liberty Memorial Hospital was completed in 1993 Departments that were included in this project were Registration, PHYSICAL THERAPY, Cardio-pulmonary, Laboratory, and the Emergency Department.
The Hospital Authority of Liberty County changed the name of the hospital from Liberty Memorial Hospital to Liberty Regional Medical Center on July 1, 1994.
Easy P&G at the Liberty Regional Rehabilitation Services building. If you cache here during regular business hours, feel free to step inside, say hello to Jayson (of LuckyBois) & check out the new facility. You never know when they might be able to help you or a loved one rehabilitate. In the spirit of location, this is a HandiCache. It is easily accessible to everyone.
