Tonight, you.
Hand Banana is part of a series of caches, 24 in total. There are 11 other caches in the area, designed to be found on a full afternoon of searching. Each cache is unique and should be examined closely.
All of the caches are on BLM land in the foothills of the Bannock and Portneuf Ranges. Expect sagebrush, cheatgrass, medusahead, prickly-pear, and other such rangeland plants. No caches will put you in precarious spots, but many require off-trail hiking and some steep elevation gains. Bring water, wear long pants and hiking boots, and plan accordingly.
Total hike time to find all caches should be around 3 hours from either starting point. Parking can be found near Simplot and access to the area is public along the river. Foot access is easy from the Greenway Area along the old highway. Access can also be gained by travelling over the top of Trail Creek and past the cell phone towers at the summit. There is no outage this way, so expect to drive the entire route back out should you enter from Trail Creek.
