Geocache Description:

NGS Benchmark Series.

I wanted to make a series to show geocachers more of our nation's benchmarks. Though they can be found in every county in the continental U.S. benchmarks are are just another little known survey tool to the public. But when you look on the NGS site or Geocaching.com you can see every detail about them. There is also description for each that tells exactly where they are. These descriptions interest me the most, at times you have to wonder where in the world did the railroad track go that was 50 feet from a certain benchmark years ago. I hope that this series gives a historical insight to geocachers of what our country looked like in the years past.

----------

The cache is at the base of the post with shiner 22568 pinned on. The benchmark is directly SE of here and directly S of the nearby witness post. It was covered with some dirt when I found it, it would be great if anyone finding the cache could brush it off if need be to keep it from not being found. Have fun and good luck!
