Geocache Description:

The cache is placed close to the spot where the Spitfire that P/O Edridge was flying on the 30th Oct 1940 crashed. He was rescued from crash, but died of his injuries later that day.

The cache is a small 35mm film pot.

I have had to move the cache away from the plaque, which tells the story of P/O Edridge, due to the cache near the Church. Please take time out to read his story, and take a few moments to reflect on the debt we owe these young men. The plaque is placed in the wooden pump house, on the village green.

Whilst you are these take time to look for the remains of the oak tree near the cottages, where Elizabeth the 1st took a meal on the 11th Aug 1573.

Could I thank Alansin for further information concerning P/O Edridge.
