While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Geocache Description:

Odin (norr. Óðinn) er den mektigste og viseste guden i norrøn mytologi. Odin var opprinnelig stormens og nattens gud, men ble senere forfremmet til hovedguden. Han er krigsgud, og guden for visdom, trolldom (seid), diktning, m.m.

Odin ble både regnet som gudenes høvding og høvdingenes gud. Foreldrene hans er Bor og Bestla, og han er bror til Vilje og Ve. Hustruen hans er Frigg, den mektigste gudinnen i Åsgard, og med henne fikk han Fjordheksa, Balder, Hod og Hermod. Med Jord (Fjorgyn) fikk han Tor. Med Rind fikk han Våle, og med Grid fikk han Vidar. Ynglingeætten, som de tidligste norske rikskongene (blant annet Harald Hårfagre) tilhørte, skal ha hatt Odin som stamfar. Snorre tar opp denne myten i sin Ynglingesaga, og skildrer Odin som en mektig høvding som innvandret til Skandinavia med stammen sin. Fornaldersagaen Sturlaug den arbeidssommes saga, som ble skrevet rundt 1300, innledes med disse ordene: «Alle menn som er kloke og har kjennskap til sannheten vet at Tyrkere og Asiamenn bosatte seg i Norderlandene. Språket deres spredte seg siden i alle land og lederen for disse folkene het Odin som menn regner sin ætt fra.
