Geocache Description:

Since we began caching we had noticed that the caches in both villages could be linked via this footpath. The public footpath is clearly marked and well-trodden (except once the farmer has ploughed the fields).

There are two routes to the cache:

1. Parking in Great Shefford you have a steep climb up hill from the village. The route takes you through one gate and two stiles at a distance of approximately 1200 metres. This is a short detour from Sophie World's Dino Series

2. The second route (Chaddleworth side) is at the trailhead near to the West Berkshire Golf Club and will take you across the golf course on public footpaths… beware of the golf balls! This route is almost 1000 metres.

When setting the cache I walked from Great Shefford and think this is the best route for views, especially when walking back down the steep hill into the village.

The cache is a green screw top container, about the size of a 35 mm film canister, with only the logbook inside… remember to bring a pen! The cache is located on the field side of the hedge not the golf course and beware of muggle golfers when searching and the thorns.

Happy Caching
