Geocache Description:

These "Restin'" caches are a series that will take you to historical and sometimes forgotten cemeteries. Some of these date back to the mid 1800's and are the final resting place of pioneers from this area.

Please pay the utmost respect when walking through these sites. Taking a few moments to read the information that went onto the stonework will ensure that these individuals will not be forgotten.

Small lock and lock. Please bring a pencil or pen to sign the log.

We chose to place a cache her because the Uxbridge Bartons have family buried here. Look for the Barton, McCormick and McIvor headstones

Westminster Cemetery, Mausoleum & Cremation Centre opened its gates in 1926. Located on Bathurst Street between Finch and Steeles, Westminster originally consisted of 26 acres but recently expanded to 34 when approximately 8 additional acres were acquired. Westminster offers a full selection of final disposition options including traditional ground burial and various cremation options.

However Westminster is most known for its mausoleum. Westminster built its first mausoleum in 1956 and now has more crypts on its property than any other cemetery in the GTA. In 2007 Westminster opened its highly publicized “Light of Christ Mausoleum.” It is a spectacular mausoleum with a massive two-storey entrance featuring a waterfall
