Geocache Description:

Transport: take green minibus No. 73 at Tai Tong Road

The earliest market in Yuen Long was established and developed in late Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) south of the main road, in Tai Kiu Tun 大橋墩 near Tai Kei Leng 大旗嶺. This is temple is near to Tai Kiu Tun.

Tai Shue Ha Tin Hau Temple, meaning 'temple under a big tree', was built some 350 years ago. The temple is so named because it is shaded by a tall old tree spreading out like an umbrella. One may wonder why the temple was not built on the seashore as other Tin Hau Temples. However, Tai Shue Ha Tin Hau Temple is not an exception for it used to be surrounded by sea. The fishermen nearby were in faith of Tin Hau and therefore built the temple to worship their deity.

After the decay of Tai Kiu Tun, the market had moved to Yuen Long Kai Hui GC3G5X2.
