Close, but not close enough (RaoF#19) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

zdonb: Landscape has changed drastically - couldn't spot the cache hding spot at all [:O] If the previous finder can provide some details, and I find it, I'll create a new cache here.

Had an unexpected opportunity to check on a few caches at the CSUCI park north of campus, when my hiking/walking buddy "Let's go there instead of the Ray Miller trail" [;)] Beautiful day to be out and about [:D]

Geocache Description:

Went looking for a difficult cache (started as a 5/5 initially, got downgraded to a 1-1/2/4) today, and this was as close as I got to it
Park hours, sunrise to sunset - $6 parking fee (the ticket is $43, I think)

Refer to the Flood Control cache description about parking and access.

Cache is a small vitamin bottle, larger than a micro, but not a small, capable of hold small swag and microtrackables. WheresGeorge dollar for FTF. From the cache you have a great view of the hill where the 5/5 is located. The cache itself is off one of the trails, on the edge of some cacti, under a SPOR (RaoF means rocks are our friends)

A reasonable way to get to this cache at CSUCI University Park is to park in the lot, and walk back along the road toward the gate. At the trailhead reference below (N 34° 10.571 W 119° 02.176), just before the cyclone fenced in area, head south and up the hill, following the trail. At the saddle, head west towards the cache.

In keeping with the OVC (Ojai Valley Cachers)/gsmx2 tradition, I placed this cache after getting an FTF several weeks ago on Ranger's Cache (GetA FTF, then SetA FTF opportunity for another cacher). This is GetA/SetA #27

***** Congratulations to SoCalifSue (and the FCC) for FTF *****

Happy Caching! A cache a day keeps the doctor away

Feedback is always appreciated on the difficulty/terrain ratings, cache descriptions, etc - thanks.
