Geocache Description:

A cache placed relatively close to where we live in the Norman Hill area of Dursley.

There is no room in the cache for a pen/pencil, so please bring your own. 

There's a chance the co-ordinates may be slightly off due to tree cover in the areas of GZ, so please let me know if you think they should be changed.

I’m relatively new to the area (6 years!), so still have so much to learn about local history

Soon after we moved in I learnt that the name of the area, ‘Norman Hill’, was taken from the name of a large house which used to stand in the fields through the stone gates at GZ, that the specimen trees lined the driveway and stood in the garden of the house, and the bottom wall of our garden once surrounded an orchard.

All of this is borne out in the lengthy discussion about the history of the old Norman Hill House on the local Dursley history forum, on this thread.
