Suggested parking in small layby at N53 10.090 W004 03.311 Then head to N53 10.072 W004 03.384 to start your walk from the bridge, take a few minutes to read the carvings on the bridge.
Please return the cache as you found it and please beware of muggles this is a very popular path in the evening, and please keep an eye on your little cachers this is a cycle track and it does cross the main quarry road.
This is placed here to keep an eye on his little friend cache called Happiness, but also with a nice view towards Bethesda and the mountains
The walk continues down through the spoils of the slate quarry on a well-designed path to the old station work yard. To be loaded on to the train and taken to Penrhyn quay. The Penrhyn quarries that produced the slate in Bethesda were started in 1770 by Richard Pennant, the 1st Baron Penrhyn, and was the biggest opencast system in the world, forming a vast amphitheatre one mile long and 1200ft deep. The quarry works railway that the trail follows was constructed between 1870 and 1879. Before this the slate from Bethesda was transported by pack horse or mules and carts and by a tramroad constructed in 1801. The line was closed in 1962.
