Geocache Description:

This is our first attempt at placing a geocache, and we hope that you enjoy. My sons love coming to the Massey park pools next door, and often after a swim we visit this park.
Another nano cache.

Massey Park history. The stand was constructed in 1913 at Eden Park Number One ground and became known as the ‘Number 1 Stand’.
There it hosted the British Empire Games in 1950 and witnessed classic rugby wins over South Africa in 1956 before being relocated to Massey Park in 1957.
The park was, at its height, the premiere outdoor sporting venue in south Auckland and hosted numerous international events and national carnivals. The park has recently undergone redevelopment.
Park gates are closed in Summer (1 Oct till 31 Mar) from 9pm to 6am and in winter from 6pm to 7am.
Nano cache, no room for swag and bring your own pen to sign the log book :)
