Located in the Stanislaus National Forest
General Info:
The cache is located in the Stanislaus National Forest around the 9600 ft level. Hwy 108 is generally closed from November through May each year. This can vary greatly so please contact Mother Nature should you have any questions.
You are searching for an ammo can near the top of a mountain. Once you make it to the top there are some great views. Please be sure to place the can upright when done as the location may see lots of snow each year. Don't want that water to sneak into the container. The cache contains lots of great tradables including a patch and pin trading bag. Take the one you like to swap out with another.
Elevation
Take your time when going for this cache. Remember that you will be near the 10K ft level at the peak. The air is thinner up here. Take frequent breaks. Drink plenty of water.
Weather
Mother Nature sets the schedule to what months of the year this cache will be available. The area does get lots of snow so plan accordingly.
Parking
Coords are attached for a parking area with lots of room. There are many other roadside pull-offs along Hwy 108. Pick your favorite and start your journey.
Camping
Camping is permitted in the area. This is one of our favorite spots to camp. We usually visit several times a year. Please be sure to have your permit for camping/fires. You can pick them up at a ranger station or get one online.
