The railway was a feature in Peebles for many years. One of early projects undertaken by Bonnie Peebles was on Edinburgh Road. The flower beds are on the site of the old station platform. The project started with one flower bed and with the help of fundraising, lottery funding and enthusiastic volunteers the former railway station is commemorated. The station closed in 1963, a casualty of the Beeching cuts. The train sculpture was constructed by a local black smith, the stone for the plaque donated by the local quarry and the plaque itself designed by a pupil of Peebles High School.
Congratulation,s to The Gray Man on the FTF.
