Cache hidden in the Breezewood parking area for the Abandoned PA Turnpike. The cache is only available from local roads and not accessible from the PA Turnpike.
The Abandoned PA Turnpike became a biking trail in the mid 2000s when the property was sold to the Southern Alleghenies Conservancy by the PA Turnpike Commission for $1. Since then, thousands of people have braved the trail and traveled through the two dark and scary tunnels east of Breezewood, PA.
This cache is hidden in the parking area for the trail, which is where a turnpike bridge once stood. All that is left now is a parking lot. The bridge was taken out years ago.
Plenty of parking is available at the location. However, be aware that many cars will be zooming past you when you're not looking along Route 30. As such, incredible stealth is required, but will not likely hide you! Also, you are in a somewhat dangerous area, thus the terrain and difficulty rating. Cache at your own risk!
