Welcome to Rommel's Field.
When you own a retriever of any sort (as well as many other breeds) you owe it to that pup to get him/her as much excercise as possible. To that end, our pup, Rommel, and I have scoped out at least 20 training grounds and ponds in Anoka county that we use frequently. Chances are that you have found a cache at many of our training grounds. This one is one of the best for its sheer size and relative isolation. The cache itself isn't much as our guidlines have changed and prevent using the ground as cover- but hey- a cache is a cache!
As a side note- our pup Rommel was named so because his coat is considered "Fox Red", a variation of the accepted yellow coat of the Yellow Labrador Retriever, and Irwin Rommel, an increadible Field Marshall and fellow tanker, was know as the "Desert Fox"- sure he was on the wrong side, but thumbed his nose at Hitler and paid for it. The AKC/UKC acceptes Yellow coats in ranges from Platinum White to Fox Red in addition to black (some white on the chest is ok) and a couple variations of brown (brown and silver- like weimeriners)
