Geocache Description:

This is a fine example of a Pony truss bridge! A pony truss is a truss bridge which allows traffic through the truss, but the top is not joined together with cross beams. When a truss is added to a bridge the overall stability will dramatically increase. A triangular like arrangement throughout a truss bridge is structurally the most efficient geometric shape. Triangles are the most rigid structure and have the ability to transfer a load from a single point to multiple points.
