A Loopy Blanchard Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GSFirefly: I am not sure if this is on private property. Obviously, when I placed it I didn't think that was an issue. But things change, and I don't want cachers to feel uncomfortable or nearby property owners to be bothered, so I am archiving. It has had a good run.

Geocache Description:

Park across road from GZ. Easy walk, but not handicachable. Not good in heavy snow.

I was out caching late on a very pretty spring afternoon, and decided to take Blanchard Loop Road back to the highway. There are some beautiful views from this road, but unfortunately most of the spots that appealed to me did not offer good parking. Then I rounded a curve, and...voilà! Parking, with open land across the (not busy, gravel) road, with trails, yet! And a nice view of the rushing creek below. I grabbed my backpack and started exploring this "new-to-me" area. I soon found a place to suit a cache that I've been carrying around for what seems like ages.

Cache is closer to the road and the trail than I'd like, so you may need to use stealth. I saw no one, but you never know. You can hear the creek from GZ, but you cannot see it. For the creek view, you'll need to walk a very short distance. It's well below you, and the drop-off is sharp, so watch the little ones. I emphasize that the terrain at GZ is totally kid-friendly and safe for all. Just be careful if you choose to explore.

As you drive to or from the cache - depending on the direction from which you approach it - you'll cross a neat little one-lane bridge.

You are looking for a camoed peanut butter container. There are some trade items, but no writing instrument, so you'll need your own. Please close cache tightly, and rehide well.

FTF gets a genuine inflatable Star Wars Light Saber which I received as a FTF prize in "Ironic Sign Nearby." Much as it pains me to part with it ,  I am passing it on - I hope to someone with kids or grandkids who will have a lot of fun with it. CONGRATULATIONS TO BIRDTREKKER ON THE FTF. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!
