Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to my father and the Red Deer River Forest Rangers. My dad saw value in old things and he loved history. I was lucky enough to be with him when he organized a Forest Ranger reunion at McDougal Flats community hall in 1995. (See geocache MDFS) He was also part of the committee that was instrumental in getting the “Red Deer River Ranger Station, Log Cabin” (circa 1930) moved from out in the west country to its new home here at the Sundre Museum and Wildlife Exhibit. That particular cabin is the one right here to your left.

I hope you will have some time to spend, to look around, and to experience the way we were. If the museum is open, I would strongly suggest seeing the wildlife exhibit, it is definitely world class.

My father also liked to write books. The First-To-Find is welcome to take the autographed copy of “Forest Trails”, a book telling of the early days of the local forest rangers.

I have also put in some copies of another book of his, “Vibes From My Mind” Please help yourself if you are so inclined.

Because this cache is really out in the open, it is locked with a combination lock.
Combination is….. Right two full turns and stop at 12 - Turn left past 25 and stop at 25 - Turn right to 13 - Open
