How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The cache IS at the specified coordinates, but first you need to qualify to be able to log it. Please read on... If you don't qualify and you log the cache, your log will be deleted.

The idea is quite simple. To check if you qualify, go to your Profile page and then click on the "Geocaches" tab. You should see something like:

What you are looking for are icon types where you have found at least 100 caches of that type. So the numbers ringed in red all qualify. The only special rule is if you use the "All Types" quantity, you CANNOT use subcategories under it. In the extremely unlikely event that you qualify for 2 or more subcategories under an "All Types" heading (e.g. found 100 "Event Caches" and 100 Mega-Event Caches", that is fine, both will count, just as long as you don't count the "All Types" quantity too.

To qualify for this Gold cache, you must have found 100 or more caches for 6 different cache icon types. So my stats shown above would just qualify.

If you are uncertain, drop me an email, and I will clarify.
