Geocache Description:

This is a simple two step multi in a beautiful garden hidden in an area that would be driven past every day without notice.  Please take the time to take a stroll around, kids and geopups will particulary enjoy this area.

Please stick to the paths while in the seed orchard, there is no need to venture off them.

The Playford Council has developed this public seed orchard to allow the convenient, safe and rapid collection of high volumes of local-native seeds with minimal impact on remnant populations.

This seed orchard allows the use of high volume collection techniques such as planting and weed matting to allow falled seeds and fruits to be collected by sweeping and the use of trellising that greatly facilitates the access to seeds.

These local plants in turn provide habitate and food sources that attract local native birds, insects and animals.  Unlike most of its namesakes this orchard has been specifically designed to encourage and accomodate these visitors! Heavy mulches, logs  and locally sourced quarry rubble provide additional shelter and opportunities for fauna to make a temporary or even permanent home.
