SideTracked - Stoneleigh Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

mpw246pl: Unfortunately the GZ has been subject to destruction by the local youths and so the area around the cache is littered with broken glass and others have left their dog poo bags as well!"
Therefore I have taken the decision to archive this cache

Geocache Description:

This was placed with my children in tow, who were most excited in getting 'another one out there'!
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. Its a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too.

Much of the Stoneleigh area was open fields prior to the early 1930s when most of the area was developed. It is now largely populated by housing. In the 17th century, the area where Stoneleigh now lies was part of the Great Park of Nonsuch Palace.
In 1731 the Nonsuch estate was sold off and the Great Park, by then known as Worcester Park was divided up and turned into farmland.

Between the world wars, demand for houses on commuter routes into London meant the area grew rapidly. Stoneleigh Railway Station was opened in 1932 having been built in the concrete style of the 1930's,  the estates of Stoneleigh, Auriol and Ewell Court were developed around it during the remainder of the 1930s.

Please make sure that you replace the cache exactly as you find it - it's been placed specifically & not haphazard, this is to try and prevent it being muggled!.

Large dollops of stealth are required to recover this cache, as it is on view to the nearby houses, bus stops and mainy roads.

The cache does not contain a pen, so bring your own

Congratualtions to Cache! Eh? on his FTF
