Sam and Hayley both attended University of Cumbria (formerly known as St Martin's College) were they both captained the women's football team.
The womens' football team are the most successful team at the University - winning consecutive league titles in 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons whilst completing the double (league and cup) in 08/09. Saints is a nickname used by all teams competing for the university.
Hayley captained the side in 2003-2004 when it was known as St Martins' and Sam captained the team in 2010-2011 when the team represented the university nationally and competed in second highest division in BUCS.
