L'église St-Jean-Baptiste, bâtie en 1836, est la plus ancienne paroisse du diocèse après celle de Notre-Dame d'Ottawa. Située près de la rivière des Outaouais, elle était le rendez-vous normal des voyageurs partis de Montréal pour se rendre à Ottawa et Kingston. Le village y connut alors un début de colonisation assez rapide.
The Church of St-Jean-Baptiste, built in 1836, is the oldest parish in the diocese after Notre-Dame d'Ottawa. Near the Ottawa River, it was the appointment of normal travelers left Montreal to go to Ottawa and Kingston. The village will then experienced a fairly rapid early colonization.
