Geocache Description:


Port Alberni was incorporated as a city in 1912.  However logging activity and sawmilling were carried out before that time.  In the early days the logs were transported by rail from the forest to the mills on the waterfront. There are many interesting trails around the area that have been established on the old railroad roadbeds.  The trail that this cache is on was once a spur line off the main line into Port Alberni and the waterfront. Parking is handy on the BW parking lot.
