Geocache Description:

35 mm film cannister hide. Please hunt for this cache from the Wirth Court Park side as there is a railroad track that is still active and the park is shielded from the railroad track by a fence where the cache is hidden. There is a path clear to the geobeacon, so bushwhacking may not be needed to get a quick hootie hoot with your find. BYOP (Bring your own pen).

Congrats to the Commander for his FTF on Memorial Day!

Madison has a great park system. The variety and proximity of parks to neighborhoods provides access to free fun and green space for everyone. I am placing this cache to highlight this park and bring people to it to enjoy it, and maybe even take out a bag of trash (cache in, trash out) to keep the park beautiful for everyone!

Please hunt for this cache from the Wirth Court Park side as there is a railroad track that is still active and the park is shielded from the railroad track by a fence where the cache is hidden and all along the side of the park.

Wirth Court Park is a neighborhood park listed on the City of Madison Parks Department webpage as an address of 2801 Saint Paul Avenue and also at 61 Waubesa Street.

Park hours are 4 AM to 10 PM. No night caching please, the park is close to many houses, so please don't spoil the cache for others, thanks :-)
The park is 2.24 acres of land, There is no restroom and there is drinking water. A basketball court is available and a backstop for playing ball too.

The park is located behind the Goodman Community Center.  Neighbors commonly refer to this park as the "Hippo Park" thanks to a Sid Boyum hippo sculpture located in the park.

KaBOOM! is a non-profit organization that helps local communities build a playground in just one day with the help of 200 volunteers. Madison Parks, Goodman Center, Kraft Foods/Oscar Mayer and the local community are coming together to build a new playground at Wirth Court Park on October 6, 2011. The playground will be built from the ground up in one day with the help of hundreds of volunteers.

The playground is now built and you should come and check it out.

Please replace the cache exactly how you found it, this area gets muggled a lot (sadly)
I am a teacher and I like to provide extra credit for my hides.

For extra credit do any of the following (or all of them, why not! Have fun!)
1. Include a picture of the hippo sculpture with you, your GPS, or a stuffed animal of your choice
2. Make at least 5 baskets at the basketball court
3. Climb to the top of the climbing equipment and slide down the rail in the middle (like a firefighter)
4. Clean up some trash you find at the park

I look forward to reading about your adventures
Extra credit logs will be eligible for a prize to be drawn randomly at a local caching event that is to be determined.
