Life is an adventure and this road is a great adventure my husband decided to take us on..We have taken this adventure several times and see something new each time.
This road is best taken from the east out of the lava beds national monument. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is not required but recommended. A high clearance vehicle with good tires is a must. The adventurous may travel down this road to the west. Be sure you know your way around a map. There are not clearly marked signs and you must work your way through closed gates up and down the mountain
The road to this cache is the ADVENTURE. You can pretty much park, walk up the hill into the rocks and about waist high is the cache. Cache is a black painted thermos.
