Kangaroo Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Toriaz: I've been considering archiving this cache for some time, after recent stories of vandalism of aboriginal sites. The spate of nuisance logs and messages has reminded me to do so.

Geocache Description:

Kangaroo Street, Lawson is a quiet, residential neighbourhood.  But it has one unusual feature which is not commonly known - in a small reserve at the beginning of the street, there is an Aboriginal carving of a kangaroo on the rock.  There is also a circular depression in the rock near the kangaroo, it is not known if this is natural or man-made.  It looks similar to the circular indentations found at other sites such as Elvina Track, Kuringai National Park.

The carving is easy to see as you walk over the rocks, but I've added a waypoint in case you have trouble finding it. Please do not walk over the carving or do anything to damage it.

The cache is located in a bush area to the side of the rock carving location.  You will be out of sight of nearby houses when you are at the correct level. It's a small sistema, with room for trackables.

Congratulations to aunty aunty on her FTF.
