Du hast gerade einige Fische gefangen und denkst ans Grillen. Leider fehlt dir ein Rost. GeoEins meint, dass es hier am Waidischbach viele Grillmeister gibt, von denen dir sicher einer weiterhelfen kann. Also machst du dich auf die Suche....

So beginnt mein erster Wherigo. Ein Wherigo (WIG)  ist im Prinzip ein Multi, nur dass ihr dazu ein WIG-fähiges Gerät braucht. Seit es Smartphones mit der App "WhereYouGo" gibt, ist es für eine breitere Geocacher-Gruppe zugänglich. Also: entweder ihr ladet euch die erwähnte App auf euer Smartpone herunter oder ihr kauft euch einen WIG-fähigen GPSr, z.B. Garmin Colorado oder Garmin Oregon.

Die Stages dieses WIG sind in einer so genannten Cartridge gespeichert, das ist ein Programm, das euch von Stage zu Stage führt. Diese Cartridge müsst ihr zuerst auf euren PC herunterladen und dann auf das Smartphone überspielen. Es gibt aber eine Möglichkeit, die Cartridge direkt auf das Smartphone downzuloaden, nämlich mit dem Firefox Browser for Android.

Auf dem Display seht ihr, zu welcher Location ihr gehen müsst, was ihr gerade virtuell (als Teil einer Geschichte) seht, das Inventar der Geschichte und die zu lösenden Aufgaben.

Während ihr den WIG absolviert, erscheinen Aktionen (Actions) auf dem Display, z.B. werden auch Fragen gestellt. Wenn etwas nicht auf Anhieb klappt, könnt ihr die Anzeige durch Ortswechsel noch einmal auslösen, also einige Meter zurückgehen und wieder die Stage oder Zone, wie es beim WIG heißt, betreten. Außerdem ist es gut, den Spielstand alle paar hundert Meter zu speichern, damit ihr nicht im Fall eines Absturzes wieder von vorne beginnen müsst.

Der Startcode, der abgefragt wird, lautet: 0815

Wegstrecke: ca. 2 km

Zeitaufwand: 1 - 2 Stunden. Die Herausforderung besteht unter anderem darin, den Weg zu finden. Dieser führt teilweise durchs Bachbett, teilweise durch den Wald.

Versionsgeschichte: Die deutschsprachige Version wurde am am 24.7.2017 überarbeitet. Der WIG beginnt direkt bei der ersten Feuerstelle. Der Final ist gleich geblieben.

BBQ at Waidisch Creek - a Wherigo Cache (English Version)


You just have caught some fish and think of a BBQ. Unfortunately you are missing a grill. GeoEins told you, that in the area of Waidisch creek there were many fireplaces, and surely one of the grillmeisters would help you. So you begin your search.

Just where? GeoEins talked about an arrow and an artwork ....

This is the beginning of my first wherigo (WIG). All you need is a WIG-capable device, e.g. Garmin Colorado or Garmin Oregon or a smartphone and the software "WhereYouGo".
Just download the cartridge to your PC and dub it to your device. There is a way to download the cartridge directly to your smartphone: the browser Firefox for Android.

On the display you get to know, where to go, what you see virtually as part of a story, what about the inventory and the tasks to solve.

While proceeding with the WIG actions will appear on the display. E.g. questions are put. If a task does not work immediately you can do it again by walking back about 75 ft and approaching the zone once more. In addition it is strongly recommended to save the game during the hunt several times. In case of program crash you can continue the hunt.

The demanded start code is: 0815

Path length: about 2 km

Need of time: 1 to 2 hours. One of the challenges is finding the path. It is located both in the streambed and in the forest.

History of versions: Local vegetation has changed. German version has been updated, the English one not yet. The answer to the question concerning an arrow is "red", the answer concerning color of stones is "red, white, black".
