Nýibær Traditional Cache

Nýibær is a beautiful example of a medium-size turf house of the North-Icelandic type. This type of turf house emerged in the 19th century. Nýibær has been in the National Museum´s care since 1956 and has been extensively renovated by the museum.
Holar has become a hot spot for geocaching in Iceland and this location needed to be part of the treasure hunt!
The cache is a film canister which contains one pencil, one very small log-book and one islandic coin.
