Geocache Description:

Shoot-out in the Woods is a site of a fictional shoot-out between cops and robbers.

Update as of 29 August 2022: Maintenance done. Cache found and placed in a little more *obvious* location. We added a few California Lottery scratchers for the next to find this cache!

Update as of 27 August 2014: The star of this geocache, a 1930's Packard 120, has been towed away by order of the Amador County Sheriff's Office. The cache is still here but it's just not the same without the car. I'll maintain the cache as long as it's still on site. The rest of the description below is what I originally posted when the cache was created.

This is the scene of a shoot-out in the woods between fleeing bank robbers and the local police – or so the family story goes.  This site has served as the destination for many evening walks so that grandpa could tell the grandkids about the shoot-out.  There’s an abandoned car sitting here that is visible from the road and is the star of the story.

The cache was placed with Malaysian coins, a Hello Kitty toy, Pinky Pie, a squinky, a log, pen, pencil and pencil sharpener.  If you’re heading up the hill for skiing, dirt-biking, fishing or camping, stop by and visit.  This site is a very short walk from Shake Ridge Road.

Congratulations to Jones Boyz for the FTF.
