Geocache Description:

This cache is a micro in another container hidden on an old railway known locally as "the Incline" and will eventually form part of a circular scenic walk near Neath.

This was once part of the route of the 'South Wales Mineral Railway' engineered by Isambard Kingdom Brunel to link the collieries at Glyncorrwg in the Afan Valley with the Docks at Briton Ferry. The incline gradient is about 1 in 10 and the coal wagons were lowered by means of a wire cable from the Incline Top. The cache can be found under an impressive bridge taking the Bwlch Road over a cutting forming part of the incline.
Be warned the cuttings can get VERY MUDDY so please where appropriate shoes or boots.

The original cache has been lost in the mud and water that has plagued this area so cache is now on the bridge not under it. Follow the bath GZ to the next so you miss out the worst of the mud in the cutting!
