As part of the Calgary Public Library's centennial celebrations, they are launching an exciting new initiative - Library Scavenger Hunt - 100 years, 100 treasures. GPS units will be available at all library locations which can be used to search for geocaches in the vicinity of each library. Some of these geocaches will be existing hides and some will be completely new. This geocache is a multi-cache which means there is more than one stage. However, because some geocachers don't like multi-caches with many stages, this one has less than four and they are all very close to each other within walking distance.
The Bowness Library is located about a block and a half north of Bowness Road and just off 77 St NW. One of the stages is located inside the library and the staff are aware of this.
The hours are:
Monday and Wednesday: 1 pm - 9 pm
Tuesday: 10 am - 9 pm
Thursday to Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday 12 noon - 5 pm*
*The Library is closed on Sundays after May 13 and opens again on September 9.
The library is also closed on Holidays.
The location of the first stage, which is a micro, is at the posted coordinates and there is information there that will lead you to the next stage. No waypoint projections or complex calculations are required.
