MrsNvTriker Teaches Doris About Waterless Cooking
Doris and George are two characters from the movie, Same Time Next Year. We thought it would be appropriately fun and entertaining for the ET Trail cachers (some of us who do, indeed, come back again… and again!) to have a little series of caches in honor of our "anniversaries" of caching the ET Highway and other Nevada trails. We hope you will enjoy the various Doris and George escapades and that you, too, may return to this beautiful place in the desert someday.
Now - you may be wondering what the heck is Waterless Cooking?!? (see below if you really want to know) Well, Doris was wondering the same thing. She thought maybe it would be helpful out here in the desert where there isn't much water... MrsNvTriker comes to the rescue this time and explains the whole process to Doris. Doris plans to cook a "waterless" meal for George when they get back to the cottage.
Waterless Cookware (It's Mentioned in the Movie) Best of all, the cookware can be used with the healthy "waterless" method of cooking. "Waterless" cooking allows for quickly cooking food on the stove-top at low temperatures and with only a very small amount of water--if any. It cooks in a way that retains almost all the vitamins and minerals (only 2-percent average mineral loss)--so veggies come out the same vibrant color as when they went in the pan. Even more, the high-quality cookware does not require additional grease or oil when cooking, which means low-fat meal options. Steam-cook food without the need for a steamer basket, bake a chocolate cake on the stove-top--between conventional cooking and the "waterless" method, the options are endless.
