I've decided to turn the river into a powertrail, and this is the first in a series of caches I plan to place along this beautiful Kayak (or canoe ride). This is number two in the series. Please be advised of the following: Begin your journey at the public boat launch off of Hope Furnace Road in Scituate RI accessible from RT 116 Knotty Oak Road (waypoint coordinates) then put in and proceed upstream.
I decided to combine my two favorite things, Kayaking and Geocaching!
For this cache you will need the following: 1.waterproof gps or waterproof container for your Gps. You and it will most likely get wet. 2. Kayak or canoe; the water gets very narrow at times so a fishingboat is not going to make it. Also an electric motor will not clear many spots as you approach the cache. 3. Ability to paddle up to a mile; this is a long ride. Please do not attempt if you are not experienced with kayaking or canoeing. 4. Ability to portage your boat; if the water table is too high or low you WILL NOT be able to paddle up the fas water, you'll be paddling against the current. If you can't lift and carry your boa alone please DO NOT ATTEMPT. 5. bring a camera, you'll see lots of beautiful things, and if the spillway is working the water is breathtaking. 6. Remember to have fun and please pack out out you bring in.
Cache is a Bison Container.
