Pirates Trail 28.






This cache is part of the Pirates trail which links our other caches together all the way from the Ancient city of Kaunos near Dalyan to the Amazing Castle series and Waterfall caches at the North end of Lake Koycegiz.

When I was here in January this final part of the Lake trail was impossible to reach from Koycegiz due to the road and first 2 streets being flooded even after the water had gone the road was still impassible due to silt, if you go on to enter the town from this direction take a look at the first buildings on either side of the road and try to imagine them practically buried in silt to get some idea as to just how bad things were.

I don't know who Mehmet was but he was obviously thought of as a hero by someone to place this tribute..
