A large cache with expansive views.
On the Hillside behind the ferry slip lies Ladies Grave where a woman is buried having died of a broken heart when her Viking warrior husband died at the Battle of Largs in 1263.
From Lady’s Bay excellent views of Largs can be found, particularly if you make the effort to climb Aird Hill behind the cache location.
In the coastal waters to the south of the Ferry slip lies the remains of a WWII Catalina Flying Boat and is one of the most dived sites in the Clyde Estuary. These aircraft were based at Barrfields in Largs which now hosts the ‘Vikingar!’ visitor centre.
