There are many cherry tree in the neighborhood of this place.
This area was known as a noted place of the cherry tree.
However, in late years cherry trees have decreased by neighboring environmental aggravation.
Koganei Park nearby is still a noted place of the cherry tree.
It was put out for a stock in Tohoku, and the Koganei cherry tree had become the cherry tree of the 'kitakami Tenshouchi'.
In late years, volunteers planted the cherry tree here from 'Kitakami Tenshouchi' for going back .
The 'Koganei-bashi' Bridge is along the way to Koganei Park from Musashi-Koganei Station.

小金井街道と玉川上水が交わる場所に小金井橋があります。
数年前に橋は新しくなりましたが、当時の橋の構造の一部を移築して記念に残してあります。
玉川上水は江戸時代に多摩川の水を江戸の町に上水として引き込むために作られました。
その途中にあるこの場所付近には桜が植えられて、小金井桜と呼ばれ桜の名所として知られていました。
玉川上水の桜は、周囲の環境の悪化によって以前ほどではなくなってしまいましたが、近くにある小金井公園は都内有数の桜の名所です。
小金井桜は東北にも株分けされ北上展勝地の桜にもなっています。
近年、北上展勝地の桜を分けてもらい玉川上水沿いに移植して復活させようとしています。
小金井橋は、武蔵小金井駅から小金井公園に行く道沿いにあります。
