Városi állat-hősök 26.
Minden nép emléket állít kiemelkedő alakjainak, hőseinek. Ez rendjén is van, de mivel érdemelhetnek ki szobrot állatok? Persze nem azokra gondolok, „akik“ munkájukat végzik, mint pl. a hátasló, vagy a Parlament kapuját őrző oroszlánok, hanem azokra a szerencsésekre, akik saját emlékművet kaptak. Mint tudjuk (?), a második világháborúban 54 állat kapott hősi tetteiért Dickin Medal-t, mely a Viktória Kereszt-tel egyenrangú brit katonai kitüntetés. Miért is ne állíthatnánk akkor szobrot is az arra érdemeseknek?
Közülük keresünk fel néhányat ebben a sorozatban. Ha úgy érzed, ide illő, méltó szobrot találtál, bátran folytasd a sorozatot!

Cantata Profana kút

Felállítás éve: 2000
A szobor és a hozzá tartozó kút a Királyhágó téren található, egy park közepén. A helyszínt forgabi&mary ajánlotta, és mivel én is kedvelem a környéket, így örömmel segítettem Nekik a rejtésben! :)
A szobor története rendkívül érdekes, sok viszontagság után került mostani helyére - erről az alkotó, Marton László a következőképp nyilatkozott:
"A Cantata profana története is érdekes. Bartók zenéje ihlette a kompozíciót.
Úgy volt, hogy a Bartók Múzeumba kerül, de nem volt rá pénz. 1998-ban aztán Hámori József akkori kulturális miniszter és Nemeskürty István meglátogatott, meglátták a kompozíciót, javasolták, hogy a Cantata profana legyen Budapest millenniumi emlékműve.
Először úgy volt, hogy a Szent György térre kerül, de valakiknek nem tetszett a helyszín, nem bírták volna elviselni, hogy a Görgey-lovasszobor után még egy Marton szobor legyen a Várban.
Kínomban elfogadtam a Gellért teret, sejtettem persze, hogy ott meg a földalatti miatt fúrnak ki. Ekkor jelentkezett a XII. kerületi önkormányzat, szeretnék a szobrot a kerületben felállítani. Oda került, pedig nem oda való. Csupán annyi pénz volt a szoborra, hogy kiviteleztem belőle. A tiszteletdíjamról lemondtam."

Animal heroes in the city 26.
Every nation raise a memorial to his outstanding persons, his heroes . This is all right, but how can animals deserve statues? Of course I’m not thinking those „who’s“ taking their job, eg. a saddle-horse or the guardian lions of the Parlament. I speak about those lucky ones whom have their own memorials. As we know (?), in the Second World War 54 animals got the Dickin Medal for their heroical acts, which is the equal honours as the Victoria Cross. Why not we could stand a statue for the worthy ones?

Cantata Profana fountain
The statue and the fountain are in a lovely park. The location is recommended by forgabi&mary - I like this neighbourhood too, so I'm happy to help them hiding this cache.
The history of this statue, which was put up in 2000, is quite interesting - the creator, László Marton said the following about it:
"The composition was inspired by Bartók's music. The original plan was that the statues goes to Bartók Museum - but there was no money, so this plan was canceled. In 1998, the current culture minister József Hámori and István Nemeskürty visited me - and after they saw the composition, they suggested it to be the millenium memorial of Budapest.
First, it was planned to set up at Szent György square - but someone didn't like this idea, because there was an other Marton-statue (the statue of Artúr Görgey) in the Castle District. So I got together with the idea of Gellért square - but I knew that this plan would be a dead end too, because of the underground.
Then, the government of district XII. came up with the idea that they want to set up the composition in the district. It got there, still it does not belong there. There was only money for making the statue - so I gave up my payment."
