This is where Varsity Branch used to be. Formerly located at 4616 Varsity Drive NW, the Varsity Branch of the Calgary Public Library was open from 1976-1988. Nose Hill Branch opened its doors April 15, 1988 and replaced the Atco trailers used for the Varsity branch.
2012 July 26 Update: Apparently someone was using this area for 'storage' of sorts. Normally, we would move the cache (if possible) or temporarily disable it until the person using this space has moved along. There is really nowhere else in the area suitable for a large cache, and even if we disable it there will be seekers because this cache, among others, is part of a larger series and already pre-programmed on public GPS units. Thus, we we took an alternate approach on this one. We will try to keep a close eye on things and discourage the use of the area for 'storage' but please let us know if unusual things return. Hopefully with the cooperation of the church and other geocachers we can keep this a pleasant place to be. Thanks, GeoWyrm
