Geocache Description:

About this cache:

First of all, use caution when retrieving and replacing cache. (there may be loose rocks)

This cache is a tip of the hat to the Boy Scout motto: "Be Prepared"
and the Boy Scout slogan: "Do a Good Turn Daily"

You are looking for a container similar to a red bison tube, but a little larger.

The cache was placed as part of the Ocanosta Cache2Eagle series, and contains an additional clue which can help you earn a patch and find a bonus cache.

Special thanks to B-Labman for opening up the location for this cache. We hope you had the chance to find his cache that was previously in this proximity.

Placed with permission of the District Ranger of Cherokee National Forest.

About the location:

In what is now Cherokee National Forest, this cache is placed at Camp Tom Howard, the site of a former Boy Scout Camp of Sequoyah Council.

The camp was active from 1936 until 1971. During the first 10 years in operation, it was known as Camp Unaka. The camp was renamed in 1946 to honor fallen WWII soldier and local Scout Executive, Tom Howard. The camp remained active until the council outgrew the landlocked leased property and built Camp Davy Crockett in 1972 where it remains today.
