El camaleón común (Chamaeleo Chamaeleon) es uno de los animales más singulares del sur peninsular. Se encuentra incluido en el Real Decreto 439/1990 por el que se regula el Catálogo Nacional de Especies Amenazadas como de interés especial. Sus enclaves se ubican en los lugares costeros andaluces, casi siempre sin dejar de divisar el mar.
La localidad Chipionera se ha convertido en punto de referencia para el conocimiento del camaleón, y en la actualidad el Centro de Interpretación de la Naturaleza se encuentra en una fase muy avanzada. Dicho centro será todo un referente y tendrá como grandes pilares tres objetivos: Protección, Conservación y Educación.
Así mismo, Chipiona recoge en su Plan General de Ordenación Urbana un área de especial protección del camaleón, correspondiendo geográficamente a la franja litoral comprendida entre el núcleo urbano y el límite con el término municipal de rota, conocida como Reamar Laguna de Regla.
Un monumento dedicado a la figura de esta especie se erige en una de sus glorietas principales, mostrando la gran vinculación que existe entre el camaleón y el municipio de Chipiona.

El caché está situado en una pasarela de madera que unen Chipiona con la playa de las Tres Piedras, cuenta con varios accesos a distintas playas y chiringuitos.







The common chameleon (Chamaeleo Chamaeleon) is one of the most unique animals peninsular south.
