Wadi Fayah is a mix of rocky outcrops and sand between two of Dubai's favourite desert playgrounds namely Pink Rock and Fossil Rock. The wadi offers a quiet spot to camp in the cooler months and is towards the eastern end of the track from Al Awir to Maliha yet is easily accessible by road.
The wadi is a great place to visit and not far from the road, you could walk in cooler temperatures. A 4x4 is advised if you want to avoid the walk. As always in the desert come well prepared in a group and have some fun. This is a lovely spot for a picnic or BBQ and not far away is a grove of trees which would make a pleasant campsite. Please don't forget to take your rubbish home to ensure the wadi remains unspoilt.

The cache is a screw top jar that was placed in a sock before being secreted away towards the top of the natural stone steps that are a feature of this particular outcrop of limestone. An easy climb on cooler days, don't forget a hat and water when its hotter and whatever the weather use gloves to carefully retrieve the cache from its rocky home which may also be occupied by the odd creepy crawly or other desert creature.
The initial contents included a couple of travel bugs as well as some goodies, a pencil and a log book, there will be plenty of room for more once the cuddly toy has been removed!.
