My Brother's Keeper
Welcome to the C.C Putnam State Forest, Worcester, Block. You are looking for a regular Lock N Lock.
Two years ago I lost my brother. Well, he's not actually "lost", he's gone. I was unable to make it to Alabama for the funeral so, instead, I came here and hiked the mountain finding "Face it Daryll, Darryl, Darrel, and Cheryl" near the summit. I communed with nature and got lost in my thoughts for a while at GZ as it is a nice spot with a great view. The last two years on the anniversary of his death, I came back to hike the mountain again. I have hidden a cache in his honor.
This is my tribute to Larry E. Walker, 1959-2011. It is not quite a mile up the mountain, about 70 ft off trail.
To get here, take Rt. 12 North from Montpelier. Just after you pass Worcester Town Hall, take a left on Minister Brook Rd. Then Right on Hampshire Hill, then left on Mountain Rd. The GPS might not be clear even if you plug in the parking coords, so this description should help. You will feel like you are going into someone's driveway, it's OK.
