Geocache Description:

So many species here in Washington are at the endangered or threatened status so I will use them whenever possible. The American White Pelican is classified as endangered in Washington.

It has the second largest wingspan (95-120"). These birds are all white except for black edges on their wings that can be seen when they fly. Their bill and legs are orange. During the breeding season they have a yellowish crest on their head that turns gray when the season is over.

American White Pelicans don't dive for fish like the Brown Pelican. They float along on the water and scoop up fish. They can eat up to three pounds of fish per day.

Moses Lake was formerly a breeding ground for colonies.

Off of South Frontage Road in the Potholes Wildlife area.  A Discover Pass may be required based on where you park, but there is room to park before the pass area.  You are looking for a small Lock & Lock.
