Geocache Description:

(Cache moved 20 feet closer to the trail ... NW of the "root ball" GZ) When our kids were little we used to "hike" along this trail and at this spot the kids would always stop to play "Robin Hood" (imitating the animated Disney movie).  So, the tree (now fallen) was affectionately named the Robin Hood Tree.  Hours of fun and frolic.  Seems that others have since adopted the spot.  Kids will always be kids.

This cache is along an old railroad spur used years ago to transport white sand from the mining area that is now the Spanish Bay Resort and golf course.  The spur ran through the PG cemetery and golf course and connected at Lover's Point to the main line (which is now the bike path) into Monterey.  The Southern Pacific right-of-way is now a popular walking and running trail.
