Geocache Description:

Due to the uprooting of the village - this is a little more tricky to find! There is a path, but also a staircase from above that may bring you down.  Congratulations to Roman! for finding the cache first!

This cache is a dedication to my Grandmother. Verna Harrison (nee Philip) August 27th, 1924 - May 11th, 2014

Britannia Beach was her home and in 1938 she was crowned the town's Copper Queen. This was a yearly event, much like a May Days Queen, that saw floats and festivities. I grew up looking at her Copper crown and feel a strong connection to this place. I have come here many times in my childhood and will continue to come here in my future.

I have placed the cache in the general location of where her house used to be.
