Geocache Description:

A small series of caches placed on one of the footpaths leading to the top of Werneth Low. Werneth Low offers panoramic views across Manchester and beyond. A great spot for star gazing on a clear night. Sections of the footpath can be very muddy!

Sirius

Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky. It is almost twice as bright as Canopus, the next brightest star, and is about twice as big as the Sun.

Sirius is also known colloquially as the "Dog Star", reflecting its prominence in its constellation, Canis Major (Greater Dog).
