Geocache Description:

This cache is a "Pen Cache" I will do my best to keep it stocked with pens. If you need a pen, take one, if you have some extras, leave some here for others, no trades necessary. You are looking for a large peanut butter jar. Feel free to leave trackables & signature items, but please keep the misc. swag to a minimum to leave room for plenty of pens & pencils.

This area has plenty of parking, but it can be a bit busy. This is the site of an old mill, which is long since gone, but the stonework dam, and the chamber where the waterwheel was are all still in place. Sometimes the water is really high, and the water pours over the dam, and at other times, the water simply flows through the cracks. Just below the dam is where the road crosses the river with a slab bridge. there are culverts underneath, so if the flow is low, the water will go under, but quite often the water flows right over the roadway. This is a very popular spot for fishing & canoeing, so please be stealthy.

I also have a geocaching challenge loacted right nearby. If you are interested in looking it up it is called:

I'm "Falling" for you at "The Slab"

This is a cache in our series:
Team Trunk Monkey's 81 Difficulty / Terrain Combo Challenge

In an effort to publish more caches in the area south of Murfreesboro, we considered a power trail along Manchester Pike. Nothing against power trails, as they can be allot of fun condensed into a short amount of time, but we wanted to do something different, and add to the diversity and range of different types of caches in the area at the same time.
There are 9 different star levels for Difficulty & Terrain, making for 81 possible combinations. I'm sure you have all seen the grid displaying all the different possibilities. We are making it our goal, a personal challenge of sorts, to publish 81 caches in the area between Murfreesboro & Manchester. Unlike a power trail, where we could have them all published at once, this series will be a process, and these caches will be published as we find appropriate locations for all the various combinations. We will also be trying to incorporate as many possible different cache types too, so expect some multi-caches, offset caches, puzzle caches, Letterbox Hybrid caches, and maybe even an earthcache if we can find an appropriate geological oddity in the area.

So we hope you will enjoy these caches as much as we are going to enjoy putting them out there for you.
