Camo'd jar hanging out on an unnamed island in the North Saskatchewan River. Well above the high water mark. FTF Prize is an unactivated 2011 David Thompson Columbia River Brigade Geocoin. It would be wise to bring a writing tool. Regardless of when you decide to attempt this cache, planning is required. Please let someone know your itinerary and cache safely.
This cache was placed to commemorate the maiden voyage of a canoe I bought last winter. My grand-daughter Amber, Kidlette Lost Leopards, and Dad Losts Leopards were with me for the occassion. All four of us embarked on this voyage at Devon, and exited the river in Edmonton. We cached and explored along the way. It was a beautiful sunny warm day with occassional bursts of winds that had us doing 360's in the river. We did not fall out of the canoe eventhough we hit two submerged rocks. The canoe survived the trip with only one broken seat! We were a bit tired! Thanks to Mom Lost Leopards for driving the truck to the Edmonton Equine Centre at our designated take out point. Thanks to Amber's Dad Spencer for picking up the little ones at Anthony Henday. Total length of the trip was 32km, and we were on the river excursion for 7 1/2 hours.
